Description
Stephanie wanted a tattoo of Kuan Yin, or Kannon (Japanese), specifically merciful, colorful and bright. I was very very psyched to do this piece for her.
It gave me a chance to do a lot of things for the first time:
grey tones
Mixing a skin tone
Human figure
Holy imagery
A LOT OF TINY SQUIGGLY LINES
This turned out to be three sessions, about 6--7 hours. I was quite overcome by the complexity of the design, and thought I must be an idiot for attempting something so intricate... but it actually turned out to go smoother than I'd expected!
There are a few things I would like to touch up on this piece, but overall I'm really satisfied with it. Stephanie wants to add a tree and more flowers under Kuan Yin.
